2.4m X-Y Auto-Acquire FlyAway Antenna

The AvL 2.4m X-Y Auto-Acquire FlyAway Antenna is transportable and features ultra-rugged construction. The antenna operates with full hemispheric coverage with an X-Y positioner and eliminates overhead pass keyhole. The carbon fiber reflector is segmented and the antenna features user-friendly assembly, disassembly and pack-up. The antenna operates in X-, Ku- or Ka-band with AvL's AAQ controller embedded in the base positioner.

This 2.4m X-Y antenna was developed for SES O3b mPOWER to be used as a highthroughput user terminal or transportable gateway. The X-Y antenna will track O3b mPOWER satellites in medium earth orbit (MEO) and provide direct overhead satellite tracking. The antenna will operate in pairs and also feature enhanced retrace speeds that are optimized for robust network operational performance.
